LIFESTYLE
Compliance has received multiple inquiries regarding posting such things as children's school fundraisers, charities, lifestyle live videos (which include but are not limited to Christmas tree decorating, makeup tutorials, cooking demonstrations, or family videos), training by third-party companies, shout outs, and networking posts for friends and people who are not members of a Consultant's household on Paparazzi sites which SITES include:
(1) Personal social media sites where Paparazzi is mentioned or sold;
(2) Paparazzi business sites (websites and social media sites, including, among other sites, YouTube);
(3) Paparazzi team sites;
(4) Live videos; and
(5) Websites.
Paparazzi Policies and Procedures stress that non-Paparazzi should not be sold or given away alongside Paparazzi. (See Sections 5.10, 5.11, 5.13, and 5.15.) All these Sections taken together form the basis that non-Paparazzi (products, businesses, or services) should not be sold, given away, offered, or displayed alongside Paparazzi on any page, site, post, live, or temporary event booth.
If you or members of your household receive any remunerative benefit from selling or offering non-Paparazzi products or services, you should not offer or sell the other products or services anywhere Paparazzi is mentioned or sold. There are no exceptions to this, and it remains true regardless of the platform, including, but not limited to, personal social media sites and team pages.
On live Paparazzi sales videos on any platform, you should not offer, display, or give away non-Paparazzi products or services, regardless of remunerative benefit. There are no exceptions for live videos. This same restriction applies to Paparazzi business pages, as differentiated from personal social media pages. The only exception for business pages would be if you offer non-Paparazzi as a reward for share giveaways. Then, these share offers can only be in the timeline and not on live videos.
On personal social media pages, even when Paparazzi is mentioned or sold there, Consultants are allowed to post networking or shout-outs, children's school fundraisers, charity fundraisers, and lifestyle live videos.
Let's discuss examples related only to personal social media sites. The policies still apply; however, Paparazzi allows a certain amount of personal content to be made on personal social media sites where Paparazzi is sold, creating a limited exception. As an example to demonstrate the limitation, a Consultant should not post makeup lives or tutorials on any Paparazzi sales page (including personal pages where Paparazzi is mentioned) if they sell makeup or receive remunerative benefits from promoting makeup. This limitation would include even a generic live video showing the Consultant applying makeup, even though no brands or products are discussed. There is too much of a correlation between the Consultant's multiple businesses. However, if a Consultant does not sell makeup or receive remunerative benefits from makeup, they can host a "Get Ready with Me" live video on their page where they engage with their audience while applying makeup.
Paparazzi sales sites (including personal social media sites where the Consultant mentions or sells Paparazzi products) should appear professional and promote the Accessories in a compliant manner.
It is important to remember that at no point in a lifestyle video should a Consultant discuss or recommend any external products or services. Returning to our makeup example, Consultants should avoid using phrases such as "Today I'll be using X product," "My favorite product is X product," or "I would recommend X product," or other similar phrases. It is a violation of policies to promote non-Paparazzi alongside Paparazzi. Consultants should also consider the issue of frequency. For example, one could presume that a Consultant who posts an excessive number of cooking demonstrations on a personal social media site where they mention or sell Paparazzi is endeavoring to build a following for their cooking tutorials on the Paparazzi sales site to segue into a new business. Redirecting traffic from the Consultant's Paparazzi business to a new business would not be compliant.
Consultants should not use their affiliation with Paparazzi as a platform or basis to sell, offer, or promote other products or services that are not Paparazzi Accessories or to build a market for a new business. See also: SECOND BUSINESSES.
